Yes, well, that is a vague question isn't it?! You could say that what is the matter with wealth is that it can have some evil effects. To be rich is not equivalent to being happy. In fact, the richer you are the more you have to lead an artificial life and this puts a strain on you because you are a biological organism whose comfort depends on peace and harmony with your surroundings. You ought to concentrate on being at one with Nature for your well-being. Money cannot buy health. Money cannot buy friends. Money cannot buy anything that you really want. Money takes you into a loop which is impossible to leave once you're there and it is a self-confirming loop in which everything gets progressively more expensive. The more you have, the more you want and the more people charge you. It all spirals out of control and you go pop, or go bankrupt. Really, you should trust Mother Nature and Providence and the people you love who love you. The baghavad gita explains that we can develop a true taste for worshipping God. It can become the more attractive thing to do, than making and spending money. Money and wealth are only recent phenomena. We used to be hunter gatherers and that society is egalitarian. Money is strange and perverse.
