About $5 retail.

$5 to $10 depending on condition. Also, a bill's serial number almost never affects its worth. The date, series letter, and condition are the major factors determining value.
August 2011... They are worth 5 to 12 dollars in circulated condition. In uncirculated condition they are worth 45 dollars or more. This is not a rare date.

5 dollars
This is normal for 1950 $5 bills. In circulated condition, it has no added value. A gem crisp uncirculated note is worth about $15
The dates on US Paper Money denote the year that particular design started. Because of this, Notes printed over a number of years may have the same Series date. There were no Series 1948 $5 Notes printed. The Series 1934 $5 bills were printed with that date from 1934 to 1950, when the Series 1950 began.

Most 1950-series $5 bills are not especially valuable. The earliest in the series, bearing the 1950 date without a series letter, would be worth $18 to $20 in uncirculated condition.
$5 to $8 if circulated, $10 to $12 if uncirculated.Note that most serial numbers have no effect on a bill's value. The only ones of interest are those with a pattern (12345678 or 13577531) or that are very low (00000005)
The series letter alone isn't enough to provide an estimated value. Please post a new, separate question with the bill's date.
