The value of coins vary greatly with condition. Within mint state (new) coins the condition and value also varies greatly. If the coin mentioned were in fact truly a gem bu. Gem bu being defined as ms (mint state) 65 or better it would be quite valuable. Probably in the $ 10,000 range. If it were choice bu (ms 63) it would be closer to $ 2,500 and if it were just bu (ms 60) it would be valued at about $ 800. Circulated examples vf sell for about $ 200 and xf for $300. Since the value increases so dramatically between ms60 and ms65. It would be just about impossible to sell the coin as a gem bu without it being certified as to grade by one of the major coin certification services. Hope this helps.
the value of a dollar was equal to 98 dollars today
At todays value, I think it is about .055 cents. To start with its not a 5 dollar Mexican peso. Its a 5 peso coin which is absolete in Mexico today. Only value is its composition if silver could be worth as much as10 dollars.if not a few cents.
The dollar value of a coin is based upon rarity, condition, date, and mintmark.
One dollar, and they have no silver in them.

what is the value of the 1747 silverloon coin or the 1732 silver pillar dollar
I have one 2 reales that i paid $90 for certified by anacs as fine 15
There were no US Silver Dollars minted in the year of 1793. The first Silver Dollar coin minted was the Flowing Hair Dollar and it first year of mintage was 1794.HoweverThe first United States legal tender silver dollar was minted, not here, but in Mexico City. It was the Eight Reales, the "Pieces of Eight," whose scrolls on its obverse were the origin of the American dollar sign. The Eight Reales was the largest and heaviest silver coin minted for over 200 years, actually bigger and heavier than the Morgan Silver Dollar. These Eight Reales were minted between 1772 and 1826, the beginning of American silver coinage.America's first silver dollar, a type of Spanish milled dollar, was minted at some of the oldest mints in the New World. Mexico, Peru, and Bolivia were among the countries to produce this treasured coin. It was the basic currency of our Founding Fathers, widely circulated during the Colonial and Revolutionary eras and used as legal tender until 1857.The "piece of 8," as the coin is often called, had a value of 8 reales. Merchants would break the coin into eight pieces, each commonly know as a "bit," allowing for purchases of other than whole dollar amounts. The value fluctuates, as there are 'replica' coins out there. I would look for the 'chop marks' that were used by merchants to mark the coins as they changed hands.
About 290 Pesos.
The fact that it says "U.S. First Dollar" should be an immediate tip-off. No circulation coin would carry an advertising slogan like that. You almost certainly have a replica piece made as part of a set of collectible novelties, and not a genuine coin. The U.S. struck its first silver dollar in 1794 and it was denominated as a dollar, not in reales. A reale was a Spanish unit of currency used on coins that circulated alongside U.S. coins until the 1850s. Coins denominated in reales were issued by Spain and did not have English wording on them. Furthermore, no U.S. dollars were struck between 1804 and 1835 inclusive.
The value of a 1747 Ferdinand VI coin, if it is an 8 reales coin is sometimes called dos mundos, pillar dollar, or piece of 8, weighing 26.9 grams with a diameter of at lease 38.5mm averages about 300 US dollars as of todate. If it is a smaller coin, you can see the denomination on its reverse side (tail of the coin), of course it is then lesser in value but physical appearance of the coin also affects its price. What is a 1752 Ferdinand VI coin found on the ship El Cazador's value?
what is the currency of the mexico money to the U.S.A
Two bits is slang for 25 cents. So one bit would be 12.5 cents. The name dates from the period when Spanish coins circulated widely in the American colonies. The most popular coin was the 8-reales piece; each 1-reale unit became popularly known as a "bit". When the US dollar was created its value was set approximately equal to the 8-reales coin, and a denomination of 25¢, rather than the decimal standard 20¢, was created for compatibility when making change. Thus 1/4 of a US dollar was the same as 1/4 of an 8-reales piece, or 2 bits.
There were at least two major types of money in use in the colonies before the US became independent and eventually established the dollar as its currency. Many places obviously used British pounds and shillings, but Spanish "reales" ("royals") also circulated widely. In fact, the US silver dollar's size and value were chosen to closely match the Spanish reale.
The minimum value of a 1885 Mexico 8 Reales coin is $9.40. A well worn coin is value around $35. A coin of average circulation is valued around $70. A well preserved coin in valued at $100.
