The US economy is based on a 'free enterprise' or 'free market' system although the US Government has a lot of economic rules and regulations that it enforces. But basically the US has a so-called 'market economy'. The Communist USSR had a 'planned economy' which meant that all economic activities, often down to specific output levels for products, were centrally planned ahead by the USSR Government, usually for five-year periods.
The USSR had a command economy, Russia today has a free market economy.
Armenia switched from a communist economy to a capitalist economy, as all the former Soviet states did after the collapse of the USSR.

After ww2 america had more manpower and economy compared to the ussr, America could have easilly defeated the ussr at any point, as well as the USSR was a primary agressor in ww2 by invading finland and poland. The fact that america wouldnt invade them then was proof that the government was compramised even back then.
The postdam conference was between the Aliies and USSR (on July 1945) . Discussing the German question, and how should Germany be treated. However, it did not end successfully because the allies (mainly the USA) and the USSR disagreed upon how the German government & economy and politics should be handled and set up. the USSR wanted Germany to have a communist government and planned economy, while the USSR had the opposite. So, the conference ended with no agreement, only further hostility. Also they discussed the issue of attacking Japan.
