demand of petrol are going up year by year and petrol is nonrenewable source of energy
Gas prices are set by a supply and demand system. If something happens that effects that system then the price can go up or down. Gas prices will go up in the United States when a Hurricane hits the gulf of Mexico coast and the Oil processing plants and Oil rigs have to close down. The demand for the oil/gas goes up and the supply goes down so the prices go up. In a situation like the Swine flu gas prices are going down because the demand is going down while the supply is going up. As the demand for gas/oil goes up the prices will follow.
= Why has the gas prices gone up and do you think its fair if it keeps going up? =
Fuel prices in general rise (Gasoline is connected to diesel prices) and this drives up the price of every single thing as every single thing was at some point moved using diesel.
Because oil prices are going up so gas companies have to raise their prices so they can make a profit and not go bankrupt.
Because when gas prices go up, food prices also go up.
you got it all in one!
No pressure requirements for diesel much greater. There were some farm tractors built in the 1940's that started on gasoline (petrol), and switched to diesel when the engine was warmed up. So it is possible.
yes it can, mixed with petrol. 5litres diesel to .5l of petrol. mixed it up and ur good to go.
I think the oil companies are having us consumers over a barrel. Since the duty on fuel (Unleaded and Diesel) are the same, the difference is made up through the Oil companies and retailers. The media is saying that it's to do with supply and demand, well I think that is bull. Becuase there has be a shift from petrol to diesel cars the oil companies can see that us consumers will be visiting the petrol forecourts less often because a diesel car delivers more MPG than a petrol car. So in order to make up for the loss they hike up the diesel prices to make up the potential loss. Diesel is cheaper to refine that unleaded too.
petrol vehicles pick up and response to gear changes quicker
Diesel fuel is designed for diesel engines, which have a different combustion process than petrol engines. Using diesel fuel in a petrol car can damage the engine components, as diesel fuel may not burn efficiently in a petrol engine, leading to poor performance and potential engine damage. Additionally, modern petrol cars are equipped with fuel systems designed specifically for petrol fuel, not diesel.
Because diesel is ignited of heat and high high compresion not a spark on lower compresion petrol engine. If you use diesel in a petrol you will end up with your engine knocking and pre-detonation followed by your engine blowing up pretty bad.
My theory about this is that you can get waaaaaaay more miles per gallon on one tank of diesel compared to a petrol engine so that means you fill up less so petroleum distrabutors put the prices up because you will be using their services less.
in some places petrol prices have gone up but in some places they have kept the same
Diesel is less flammable than petrol. A build up of petrol fumes inside a boat is extremely dangerous, as a spark could ignite the fumes.

Because the engines will not run with the wrong fuel to to their design. Although both diesel and petrol engines are internal combustion engines, they have differences that enable them to use these different fuels. A petrol engine ignites the fuel/air mixture by using a spark plug. A diesel engine in contrast has no spark but compresses air during the compression cycle. When air is compressed it heats up. Diesel is then injected into the cylinder and it ignites.
