In a normal perfectly inelastic collision, objects stick together, and there is damage done. Kinetic energy is not conserved, but momentum is. However, an explosion is a perfectly inelastic collision in reverse, because instead of having objects coming at each other and sticking together, the objects are already stuck together, and fly apart. The equation for this is

[m1 v1 + m2 v2] = [m1 + m2]*v

The damage done would be the chemical reaction involved. Atoms were at first stuck together, but there was a chemical reaction [aka "damage" because atoms were changed], and then the atoms fly apart. Thus, a perfectly inelastic collision in reverse.

Be careful how you use the physics terms; it's not an inelastic collision [that's when objects impact then part].

Diodes will have a small leakage current in reverse bias. In most cases, this current can be considered insignificant and ignored.

Why is saponification reaction is considered to be the reverse of an esterification reaction?

saponification is considered to be the reverse process of an esterification reaction due to the fact that esterification is combining an alcohol and a carboxylic acid but a saponification is breaking apart the ester by adding an NaCl molecule (soap) to the chain of carbons.

Retroviruses are considered a special class of viruses because they transcribe RNA to DNA using reverse transcriptase. HIV uses reverse transcription to synthesize a DNA strand using its RNA genome as a template.

Why ligation can be considered the reverse of the restriction enzyme process?

Restriction enzymes cuts out a specific short nucleotide sequence while as the process of ligation, DNA ligase joins them together. So ligase can be considered the reverse of the restriction enzyme process as it joins DNA fragments together instead of cutting them out.

What type of plate boundary causes a reverse fault?

In an ideal world this would be a margin that involves some element of compression, so you're looking at a compressional (orogenic) or subducting margin. Anywhere where the crust is thickened generally involves reverse, also known as thrust, faulting.
