because they were very fast and smaller in size which helped in developing computer with great speed and in reducing computer sizes and also because they are smaller in size less power consumption was there and also they took very less time to activate unlike the ancient computers.

Very little for over a decade because it took that long to learn how to make high speed transistors needed for computer use, that were reliable, and at the same time had high gain. And then it took several more years to learn how to make silicon planar transistors which were not destroyed by humidity and could then be packaged in inexpensive plastic packages and at the same time made monolithic integrated circuits possible.

Transistors used less power, generated less heat, and were much smaller than vacuum tubes.

Early transistors however were often less reliable than vacuum tubes, but they quickly improved and became far more reliable than vacuum tubes. Also early transistors cost much more than vacuum tubes, but as mass production techniques were developed (particularly with silicon transistors in 1959 by Fairchild Semiconductor where thousands could be made at the same time on one wafer using photolithography) the cost of transistors fell exponentially.
