there is no main cause, all causes are equal for without one cause then the crash wouldn't have happened. for example with out over production there would have been no crash at all and without a panic reaction, there wouldn't have been a crash at the end, it would have all corrected itself out over time.
The US gave Germany (and other countries) Huge loans after the war. So when the US economy went down, they needed the money back. The Germans did not know what to do. Many American factories and workplaces in Germany shut down.The value of the Deutsche Mark fell tremendously and you needed to take a cart full of money to the checkout because it was worth nearly nothing.

This obviously is linked to the Wall Street Crash of 1929. Following the Treaty of Versailles America began to inject billions of dollars into Germany to sustain and rebuild its economy. Following the Wall Street Crash America tried to regain much of this money to limited success. America went into recession for many of the same reasons as it has today.

The Stock Market had continued to climb during the Twenties, but the economic problems that accumulated over the decade and were not recognized by the majority of economist and stock brokers, eventually caused the price of stocks and the confidence in the economy to crash.
