A private school is NOT home school.
Homeschool is parent led education. There are many styles of this... recreating a classroom in the home using books and worksheets and the parent teaches the child and has a schedule similar to public school. Some allow the child to learn on their own by simply providing the materials and giving goals each day or week. Some use online learning software.
BUT some people will pay to use online homeschool programs.... some are also called umbrella schools. Each one is different, have different requirements of both parent and child. Some have testing some do not..some are more involved some are pretty hands off.
Northeast Oklahoma Association of Homeschools was created in 1998.
I would look into different online schools or private schools. Online schools are much like homeschools and you can finish with the rest f your class.
