As someone that went to both public and private schools growing up, I can say they both have their own sets of benefits and problems. What might be considered scary depends on the school, the administration, and the individual student. The best thing you can do is to read reviews on the school that you are looking at, as well as talk to a variety of families that have students in that school. Ask them for what they feel are the best and the worst things about that school.
