Sure. But why would you want to? I mean education is very important nowadays and i think before you do anything drastic, you should think about it carefully. It'll be very hard to find a good job without an education. Think before you act...please

Smile.sm - In most states you can, although you may want to check individual state laws. And yes, education is important, but who's to say that government-mandated education is the best option? It is something you should think through carefully, and not do unless it feels right to you; however, a great majority of colleges accept GEDs and if you score decent on the ACT or SAT tests, you should be fine getting a job. Good luck!

Everyone I talk to regret dropping out, coz then theres no going back, and you only have one life.....

This calculation is based on the assumption that a student starts kindergarten around the age of 5 and progresses through 12 grades before graduating from high school. Therefore, counting forward from the birth year of 1960, 18 years would bring us to 1978 as the year of high school graduation.

Can a 19 be held at home until graduating high school?

(in the US) 19 years of age is certainly past the age of emancipation in any state. Perhaps your parent(s) are being protective of you and simply want you to be able to finish school and graduate. However, there can be other reasons why your parent wishes you to remain at home, for instance: if a custodial parent is receiving child support until you complete high school, if you move out the child support paid to them would stop.

How old are kids when they finish school in Germany?

The age of students finishing school in German can vary a great deal depending on which path they take in their secondary education system. This system has four types of schools called Gymnasium, Realschule, Hauptschule, and Gesamtschule, and each would equate to what the US educational system calls high school. A student's age on completion of any of the four depends on the specific course of instruction and amount of additional schooling required. For example a beautician can finish school after the 10th year of school or as young as 15 or 16.
