<Ctrl>+<Spacebar> only resets the font characteristics within the paragraph. It does not change any paragraph characteristics you may have set by hand (such as via the Home tab ribbon), such as alignment, bullets/numbering, borders, or indents. To revert to the paragraph style characteristics, you have to click the paragraph style name again, and even then things might not be exactly right. For example, if you were in a numbered list, and you click the numbered list style again, the paragraph you are resetting may turn into a list of its own (and have its own number and space before or after it). To fix, highlight the entire list and click the style for that list. Although I cannot at the moment reproduce it, sometimes when I am trying to reset the paragraph style (per above), Word asks me if I want to save to a new Quick Style. Just say no!

Yes. Or you can make a different style and then apply that style to the paragraph but then you will have to have the insertion point in that paragraph.
To create a negative indent in a document, you can use the ruler tool in most word processing software (such as Microsoft Word) to drag the indent marker to the left. This will move the first line of the paragraph beyond the left margin, creating a negative indent effect. Be cautious when using negative indents as they can affect readability.
The purpose of indenting paragraphs is to indicate a change of subject (as when you move to a new "topic sentence") or at least to break up the text into more readable sections. No one wants to read an excessively long paragraph. It is easier to take in meaning when there are pauses provided by paragraphing. Indenting is not the only way to show paragraph breaks. One can use the block paragraph style, in which there are no paragraph indents but a space is skipped between paragraphs. The correct way to indent paragraphs, if that is your preferred style, is to use the tab. Strangely, many people don't know how to do this and indent by hitting the space bar a few times. This is a bad idea, because it often results in indents of uneven length and the resulting document doesn't look professional.
Indented close punctuation refers to a writing style where each paragraph is indented on the first line and uses a colon, semicolon, or period to introduce or conclude a thought within the paragraph. This style helps to create a clear visual break between thoughts or ideas.
In Microsoft Word, two common types of formatting are character formatting, which involves changing characteristics like font style, size, and color, and paragraph formatting, which controls alignment, spacing, and indents for blocks of text. Both types are essential for creating professional-looking documents with visual appeal.
