Can an AA in Interior Design get you a decent job in the design industry or do you need a Bachelor's to be seriously considered?
So you went to class! Good for you! (not trying to be mean but make a point)
In the graphic design world, your degree only speaks a little for you.
It's your portfolio, your talent, comprehension of design elements, process and production that gets you hired.
If you want in with BFA in hand, 2 years of experience under your belt with a so-so book...
then "Jimmy John" walks in off the street, is self taught, no degree and has a killer! portfolio, guess who's getting hired? Make sense?
Your book speaks all miles for you. The "paper"/degree shows that you actually went to class, which is good but not good enough to be the sole reason why you get hired.
(btw: I'm not knocking education at all. I'm actually preaching the opposite. Go to class. Learn everything you can. Emerse yourself in the graphic design life so that you can produce killer work! I have 2 degrees, but yet have I had the extent of my education come up in an interview. The first thing they say is "so.... lets take a look at your book".
