You are at 18. You are an adult at 18.
New Hampshire does not have an emancipation statute.
In Illinois, the legal age to move out without parental consent is 18. Minors under the age of 18 may be considered emacipated by a court, which would allow them to live independently. It is recommended to seek legal advice before making any decisions.
Interesting question, as each state has its own laws in this regard and may not honor the ruling of another state.
In the US, it's highly unlikely that you will be emancipated. Emancipation is rarely granted to begin with, and when the minor has a child it reduces the chances of it being granted even further (for many reasons).
You are responsbile for your child until they reach the age of 18 or are emacipated by a court of law. The fact you threw the minor out of your home doesn't change the fact you brought them into the world and are leaglly responsible for them. Why people who don't want to raise kids have them is beyond me.
Even though you have a child, you are still a minor and therefore cannot leave home unless you have parental permission or you
In some states and countries it is possible. In some, the time it would take to get through the proper process would take longer than reaching the age of majority.
well I don't think that you can. I think that you have to have more reason then your father yells at you. You can get emacipated at 16 in Oklahoma but you have to have a very good reason.
With Parental consent, I believe so. However "emacipated" is not the term you are looking for, it only gives you the ability to sign into contracts, car payments, credit card, etc.
You must live in a state that allows emancipation. You have to be old enough to be emancipated, normally at least 16. Then you have to file the appropriate documents with the court. The most important item is to show that you can take care of yourself financially and not be a burden on the state.
First you have to contact the family court, ask for a petition to be emancipated from your parents. If you are self sufficiant and can provide on your own, you can be emacipated. Which means your parents are no longer responsible for you financially. Eash state may have different laws that apply.
yes if they get emacipated but that costs money and can take a long time.
