Can you give summary of the brute by Chekhov?

A woman's husband dies early that year. When a man comes to collect money for the oats he supplied to the horse he declares his dislike for women. Later the the two declare a shoot out, but instead declare their love for each other. The ending turns out to be very ironic.

The Brute by Anton Chekhov examines the perceptions of the sexes about each other. The title character freely shares his negative opinion of women publicly. He has come to collect a debt and wants no feminine wiles from the recently widowed wife of his debtor. The two have a battle of words and a duel is proposed. But It soon becomes clear his boorish act is but a ruse and even clearer, he really likes the object of his derision.
