Submersing oneself in hearing a language constantly, even if one does not understand it, makes it easier to pick up and understand the language later, as well, it assists with pronunciation -- assuming the pronunciation you expose yourself to is correct.

However, extra work is necessary to obtain a firm grasp on the grammar and vocabulary of the language. While learning subliminally should give you a better feel for what sounds right, the extra work to learn the mechanics of the language is necessary.

There is, at the very least, no harm in using such a method as part of your language learning techniques.

As a linguist, I've never heard of a successful case of subliminally learning a language; however, I think for some people, it can make the learning easier if accompanied by more conventional techniques.
