Any diploma will be issued following awarding body requirements - If there is no association between the schooled student and an awarding body there will be no awards (certification) Some online organisation offer their own "in-house " certification but these are generally not acceptable across many other educational establishments and employers . They will prefer nationally recognised awards.
Well, A-level is the more advanced, being taken at college or sixth form, afetr your GCSEs. However, your GCSEs are also important, as both employers and universities take your GCSE and A levels into consideration. It is common to take around 10 GCSEs and 3-4 Alevels.
