1. Your home PC electrical cables are struck by lightning and your PC is destroyed. How would you go about buying a new one when you have no web access, how would you go about re-building all the applications you had and adding all your emails/web favourite links, and assembling all your data files and structures back. What lessons could be learnt for the future, such as more regular or automated backups, adding an electrical protection system and having multiple PCs but don't connect them all the time if you want an always available system.

2. Some local diaster in your local area, such as a flood that destroys some of the road infrastructure. How would you look after yourselves and your family, how would you get around, how would you keep the businesses going and get food and water in, how would you get the infrastructure restored, how would you keep Law and Order, what changes would you make to stop it happening again, how would you make sure those changes were done. This assumes you take the role of a local government official.
