This should not have any affect on your parents income tax return if you are still their qualifying child dependent on their 1040 income tax return.

And of course you do know that if your are their qualifying child dependent that you can NOT claim your self on your own income tax return for the exemption amount when your income tax return is completely correctly.

What states give the working family tax credit?

The Working Family Tax Credit (WFTC) is offered by several states in the U.S. to help low- to moderate-income families. States that provide this credit include California, New York, Washington, and Oregon, among others. The credit is typically designed to supplement the federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and is often targeted at families with children, helping to reduce poverty and incentivize work. In California, the state offers a version of the WFTC through its CalEITC program, expanding eligibility to more low-income workers. New York also provides a state EITC that mirrors the federal credit but with higher rates. Similarly, Washington, Oregon, and a few other states provide their own versions of the credit. Each state may have different eligibility requirements, such as income thresholds and the number of dependents, but the goal is the same: to support working families and reduce financial strain.
