What makes your character a Mary Sue is having them be a super-powerful character that does unrealistic things. Here are some things that might show a character is a Mary Sue (or Marty Stu):

  • Being super special (special powers, special looks, special clothing, etc)
  • Making the original characters act in ways that are not realistic to their personalities (all of them like/love/hate her for little or no reason, they abandon their usual friends for her or gang up with their enemies against her, etc)
  • Having an unrealistically horrible or special childhood (abused and orphaned, heir to a throne, beaten daily by horrible step-parents, etc)

Can a child have abandonment issues if a parent dies before the child is born?

Not the same way as if the child was older but missing having a mom/dad and not getting to know the parent can make the child feel such things. The other parent and grandparents can often tell the child how amazing the parent was and that can make you feel like you knew him/her in a way and miss him/her and wish you had met and known him/her.

Can the executor of the will put the parent in a home?

No. As the executor of a will, your role as executor is not triggered until the party who named you executor dies. If the parent is still alive, you'd need a power of attorney (document) naming you as the power of attorney to make decisions for the parent in the event that the parent is incapacitated or incapable of making decisions on his or her own behalf.

What happens to federal parent plus loans when the parent dies?

Typically there are only a few ways federal loans can be written off or dismissed. Death or being permanently disabled are a couple of them. If a parent dies, the PLUS loan in their name will be dismissed. No one will need to make payments on it any longer. If his has happened, be sure to notify the lender for the loan what has happened. They will likely ask for documentation of the death.
