There are only two things you need to do in order to win a gavel.

1. Talk as much as you possibly can, your placard should be raised whenever you can (it doesn't matter what you're saying so much as that you're talking).

2. Sponsor everything that your country would agree with, and go up to present it whenever you can.

In a disaster conference, you don't need to prepare much, just know some background history.

In a normal conference, you should thoroughly prepare and know what type of directives/resolutions you should be sponsoring/writing.

Talk to people before/after conferences about non-mun related things so that they feel more comfortable around you and will let you sponsor directives/resolutions they write.

Also, sit right in front of the judges (or as close as you can get), this will make it more likely that they call on you when you ask to talk.

If somebody tries to steal your idea, either sponsor it, or take theirs and change something small and act like it makes a huge difference.

It's a lot easier to win in a smaller committee of around 20-30 delegations than one with 40+ delegations, so always try to sign up for the smaller ones.

Lastly, sign up for a committee that interests you, or that you have some background knowledge on, because a committee on architecture can be pretty hard if you have no interest/background knowledge on it.

Good Luck
