It is possible to do this, but may not seem like it.
No, the DS never translates anything, all the alternate languages are on the DS card itself. A Japanese game can only be played in english if it actually has been translated on the game itself.
Yeah, theres no region lock on DS's
All the Nintendo certified games, merchandise, and consoles have the Nintendo seal on it.Even Japanese games have it!
Yes.Wait no....This game download on Nintendo DS? Sorry for my english!
Unfortunately, no. The Japanese games would have to be manually programmed to support English, and very very few are. The Pokemon games, for example, do not have English translations in them.
Yes. The DS lite is not region locked, a Japanese model will play DS games from the US.
Well actually, there is a Maple Story DS, but it is not in English. Now the Nexon production has teamed with Nintendo on making this game come to the DS. By the way, there is a new DS coming out, but it is sadly on in Japanese (yes it is coming to the U.S.). The new DS is called the Nintendo DSI because it has two cameras installed into it.
NES (Nintendo entertainment system), SNES ( Super NES), N64 (Nintendo64), NGC (Nintendo GameCube), Nintendo DS ( DS Stands for digital screen) , Nintendo DSL ( DS Lite), WII And DSI (DS & I had NO meaning! In English!!
Yes, they do since Nintendo DS games are not region locked
Yes. DS games are not region locked.
Yes, a Japanese version of Pokémon HeartGold will work on a DS from Australia. The Nintendo DS can play all games regardless of what country they originate from.
Most Nintendo DS games start off in their original language and are then either translated and marketed officially by Nintendo, or hacked and subbed by bilingual fans. Although the Nintendo DS itself has a switch-language function, the games you play on it would need to be purchased from a Japanese vendor, imported, or fansubbed for you to get them in Japanese.
