Assuming that each of those classes is of equal value (none get extra credit for honors or less credit as a lab etc...) -
A=4
B=3
C=2
D=1
F=0
For example, you have an equation that looks like:
(1A+4B+1C)/6
6 is the number of grades or classes in the equation
So it's:
(4+12+2)/6
18/6

Your GPA is 3.0 or B
Pass/fail classes typically do not count towards GPA. Instead, they are usually recorded as a pass or fail on your transcript without affecting your GPA.

The major GPA includes only the grades earned in courses that are specifically required for a student's major or concentration. Elective courses or general education requirements typically do not count towards the major GPA calculation.
Yes it does, but you can only have a total of four P.E units (transfer).
To my knowledge, a GPA of 4 is perfect (all As) and therefore a GPA of 4.1 is impossible. Aside from that mathematical quibble, good grades do count in your favor if you are seeking a scholarship, yes. A 4.1 GPA is not impossible. Many high School offer college level course which help raise your GPA past that of a 4.0. Will it help get a FULL Scholoarship? Probably not depending on the college that you're apply to. Will it look good on transcripts to get into a college? yes.
No. A 79 average is 2.4 GPA. It depends on the scale. Some schools count on a 4 point scale and some count on a 5 point scale. If you take an AP or advanced placement class, you get an extra point. Regardless it is a high grade point.
The average GPA for students with a 3.8 GPA is 3.8.
