Unfortunately, it is a little late in the game to be worried about that. Students who are retained (held back) often do not consider the consequences of actions. Many (not all) do not consider that if they do not apply themselves to the work as it is given, that the result will be bad grades and potentially being left behind.

It is possible, if your teachers are willing, that you may be able to do some sort of extra credit assignment to help you just get a passing grade, but you have to wonder if this will really benefit you. The only way it can is if you learn the lesson now, and focus on why you are at school. I assure you that the social aspects of it, or acting out are not the reason.

Do your work, do it on time, and put out your best effort. If you still fall behind, talk to your teachers and the school counselors to see if you can get extra help.

Finally, do not wait until the last instant to try to bail out the boat.
