You ask the teacher or ask the school if they send you to the school district ask them that you want to know your child's test score from the past year.
By asking the government or asking where you sent his/her scores to. That's what I did.
The childs last name is irrelevant. If you have established paternity you can petition for full custody in court. Speak to your lawyer about your chances.

I'm not sure if I've ever seen an article on the downsides to homeschooling - there are just too many advantages! A study was completed last year which you may be interested in reading: Perhaps a downside could be burnout by parents, partcularly if they've been homeschooling several children for several years. Good luck! Since you asked, NBC did a "Law and Order - Special Victims Unit" on homeschooling being a cover for child abuse. (Go to nbc.com and search for articles on homeschooling.) However, I think that is a grossly inaccurate portrayal of most homeschooling families. Like the last person said, there are only too many advantages to homeschooling that outweigh any "dangers or disadvantages."
over 5000 people have gotten into homeschooling this last past year
It is designed to last throughout the childs life.
If he is married to the child's mother the decision is theirs to make, but if he is not married to her the mother decides the child's last name.
There is a 25% improvement.

Sorry for the typo in the last message, I was interrupted. What I meant to say was my other two kids will probably also graduate at 15 yrs old. They are currently 14 and 11 1/2 yrs old. Yes,there is a great book on the statistics of homeschooling. It is called "Homeschooling: The Right Choice!" by Christopher Klicka, Loyal Publishing, www.loyalpublishing.com. Check out Chapt. #5. We have purchased the book for our family a couple of times because we continue to lend it out, but never seems to come back. It may not be the most up to date, but it is a starting point. (P.S. we have been homeschooling since 1996 and have truly been amazed. Our daughter will graduate from high school at 15 yrs. old this year and our other two kids will probably will also.)
