Kosumosu

Improvement:

コスモス /ko su mo su/ and also コスモ /ko su mo/ are Japanese 'gairaigo' (borrowed/inserted word from foreign origin) for the word 'cosmos', however in sense of 'universe' , 宇宙 /u chyuu/ can be used in Japanese. For the plant/flower 'cosmos', 秋桜 /a ki za ku ra/ is the Japanese equivalent.

I believe the most common translation for the word 'astro' would beアストロ (asutoro). There are quite a few alternatives, however. For example, as 'astro' is commonly used as a prefix in English, the equivalent in that aspect would be something akin to天 (ten) in Japanese (as seen in the word天文学 [tenmongaku]

  • astronomy).
