There are a few different words in German for "train" also whether the it is the noun or the verb that needed, just to translate the word with getting the context correct is pointless.

A train in the context of a locomotive with carriages or wagons is (der) "Zug".

A train in the context of rail road or railway is (die) "Eisenbahn" or "(die) "Bahn".

A train in the context of wheel or cog work is (das) "Räderwerk".

A train in the context of file and rank is (die) "Reihe".

The train on a wedding gown is (die) "Schleppe".

The verb to train in as in learn or teach is :-

"abrichten", "anlernen", "ausbilden", "dressieren", "erziehen", "lernen", "schulen", "trainieren" or "unterrichten"
