Well most schools have a 4.0 grade scale but if you happen to be in honors then it is very much possiable to get a 5.0. Very unlikely though only because many people dont take all honor classes and if they do then the get that 5.0. Just noramal class gets a 4.0 for straight A's
Well at my school a weighted GPA goes up to 5 and an unweighted GPA goes up to 4. It might vary depending on the school

The importanct of your GPA is totally dependant on the job your applying for. 95% of the time, GPA will not even be brought up. The degree is the most important thing.
