To be a professional choreographer you have to go through years of dance training and then you have to train with a choreographer to perfect your technique and you also have to keep in tune to what is out there in terms of dance trends and styles since they change very quickly with each new generation or old dances coming back into style that you want to tweak up to fit the current trend that's out there. Then you have to have credentials of past dance experience and training to show if you're hired by a dance company or by entertainers so you're held to professional standards, most choreographers tend to have had some dance experience as children and they just built on to that talent and skill to take it further.
