As of October 2023, Florida State University has had three black quarterbacks in its history: Charlie Ward, who won the Heisman Trophy in 1993; and Jameis Winston, who won the Heisman in 2013. The third black quarterback to start for the Seminoles is Deondre Francois. Florida State has a legacy of successful quarterbacks, and these players have made significant contributions to the program.
