Rabbits have delicate skeletons made up of 23 kinds of bones. Their skeletons are frail and make up only about 7 or 8 percent of their body weight. Older rabbits commonly get Arthritis and osteoporosis. The bones of the skeleton are: cranium, scapula, sternum, spine, fibula, tibia, femur, ilium, sacrum, caudal vertebrae, calcaneus, tarsus, metatarsus, phalanges, ulna, radius, carpus, ribs, metacarpus, cervical vertebrae, atlas, mandible, and maxilla.
