Yes, a CBSE student can fail in class 8 if they do not meet the required academic standards set by the Central Board of Secondary Education. The board evaluates students based on their performance in various subjects throughout the year, and failing to achieve the minimum passing marks in any subject can result in failure. However, schools often provide opportunities for improvement and may allow for retests or supplementary exams.
