How much is medical residency?

It varies based on the state or hospital. Usually the residents get a small raise each year. My starting salary year one is 43800. It will be around 50000 year five. Some schools in NY start above 50000. Some residencies with lower cost of living start in the high 30000's.

They are getting paid around 50 grand to be trained. The 1st year Psych residents at the Psych Hospital I work at start at 48,000. Maybe it doesn't outweigh loans, but I would say that it's decent for basically a 4 year extension of school.
