Since you generally start kindergarten at age 5, then you would be 15 when you start 10th grade (sophomore year).
But, this can vary, depending on your birthday, the cutoff date for starting school in your state, and whether or not you ever got held back.
The cutoff is usually September 1st, so if school starts in late August like it does in many places, then the very youngest students will still be 14, but they'll turn 15 within a couple weeks of school starting. Some states would make it possible to be 14 for a couple months or even almost half of your 10th grade year. A couple states don't even require a kindergartner to turn 5 until December.
In some cases, you could be 16 starting sophomore year. This could happen if you ever had to repeat a year of school. And in some states, the cutoff date is before school starts (like sometime in August), to ensure that no child will still be 4 on their first day of kindergarten, so everyone has to be at least 5 and the oldest will already be turning 6. So by sophomore year, everyone would have to be at least 15, and if you're the oldest, you will already be 16 or at least turning 16.
It depends on what age you started and how many units you take each semester/quarter. What makes a sophomore a sophomore is the number of completed units. A person could go to college 2 years and still only have 12 units or they could go and have 30 units.
