Depends on the University, for EKU the requirements for the Act is to meet a composite score of 18. Have at least a 18 in English, 19 in Math and 18 in Reading. There's a program called Compass for the people who don't meet the requirements for both English or Math. What will happen is you pay the school your applying to the compass fee which is like 10 dollars and they will schedule a day for you to come in and take the test. You choose which one you will take (you should take the one best for you.) If you pass it then the one you didn't take will be your course you take your freshman year which would push you back a credit. The course is like a recap of everything you learned in high school. Now lets say you didn't pass the compass, you have I think 2-3 times for each subject then you are denied. The Act is not about being smart its about who's the best at trick questions. Example: Will has 1090 apples, thirty-five are dead how many does Will have now? Even though the apples are dead he still has them so it's still 1090. The questions are harder than that though but you get the picture. Remember they do check your GPA too. Sometimes if your GPA is really bad they won't even let you take the compass.
You would need a score of at least 31, but that doesn't guarantee it. You still have to compete for it.
