Absolutely not! As a matter of fact, one of my professors (who later clerked for a Supreme Court Justice) didn't begin law school until 32.
ETA, I started at 27 (like President Obama) and was 30 by graduation. I found the discipline I had acquired in my 20s to be a big help. I managed to do all the reading and still get a full nights' sleep. So I don't think a 30 year old would lack the physical and mental stamina to do the work.
If it is social life you're worried about, that has more to do with relationship status and where you live than it does with age itself. Sure, someone who is 45 probably won't bond and get invited to parties like a 22 year old would, but I found that at 30 there really wasn't a big barrier that prevented friendships. I got invited to all the parties, although I'll admit sometimes I skipped the ones that started at midnight to have an evening at home with my husband. But that was a matter of choice.
You might miss out on the drama of relationships and gossip, but if you put the effort in you can develop the relationships you need to start your career.
Do what you want. But yes. I would consider going to law school at 56 crazy.

Most schools don't have a maximum age. As long as you can meet the entrance requirements, you will be considered at any age.

The only way you can legally get out of school is to drop out when you're old enough. You are required by law to go to school.

There is no age limits for attending law school. Many have started at a much older age and been successful.
Despite the hype around it, there is not really competition in law school. There are those that fight for the recognition of the professors.
I'm not aware of an age requirement, but you have to be old enough to have completed an undergraduate degree. Most people are at least 22 when they start law school, but if you finish college early, you could get in earlier.
There is no upper limit. I attended with a lady in her 70's.
