No way!
From the cultural dictionary - In anthropology, an organization for the conduct of ritual, magical, or other religious observances. Many so-called primitive tribes, for example, have ancestor cults, in which dead ancestors are considered divine and activities are organized to respect theirmemory and invoke their aid. A cult is also a religious group held together by a dominant, often charismatic individual, or by the worship of a divinity, an idol, or some other object.
I took the Landmark Forum almost 10 years ago, and I've participated in different courses since then. I've never heard anything about religion, except as brought up by people next to me participating in those courses with me, and they always said it's brought more integrity and spirituality to their religious practices. Also, no dead ancestors that I've ever heard of. :) Finally, no dominant, charismatic individual or divinity/idol/object worship! I know when I say that some people will point to Werner Erhard, who designed the initial programs 40 years ago, and I've heard stories about how Werner Erhard was compared to a cult leader, but from what I've read and heard, he hasn't been on the scene for 20 years. All I see when I attend their courses is people getting training in dealing powerfully with and gaining new abilities at dealing with what's important to them in life. I've seen people transform from meek/shy/upset/whatever into powerful/self-expressed/free/peaceful people in a weekend. Awesome stuff to see and experience!

According to the Cult Awareness and Information Centrethey are on a watch list of groups that display cult-like behavior.Landmark Education is a training and development company that offers seminars in the areas of communication and performance effectiveness for people and organizations. The programs are not religious or psychological though. Other than Tony Robbins its some of the best stuff put together to help people live their lives powerfully that I have ever seen. The company's mission statement is to simply empower people to fulfilling the matters of their life that are important to them, and to help them deal with life's challenges in powerful ways instead of feeling controlled by circumstances. The cult accusations that come up once in awhile is really just nonsense from people who don't really know any better. If you are the type of person who really likes training and development then I highly recommend their programs.
