No, but you do have to pay 15 dollars a month and 30/40 dollars for expansions so yes some people can be called nerds, the average time for players is like 4-6 hours a day and some people play as long as 12 hours a day.

The true nerds are people who think wow is life and they overeact in the game constantly, play for 8 hours or greater, have a level 80 in each class (this is a fun goal for people, so if people have like 3 in each class, they are a wow nerd big time), and don't do anything active or anything else but wow, they are wow nerds. No offense, most wow nerds weigh over 250 pounds do to loss of activity.
