stratford career institute is not an accredited school so you cant get into college with their diploma
I'll challenge that. As a high school teacher who's had to participate in the process to gain accreditation for an institution, I want to challenge the answer given above by a previous poster (and too, what were that poster's credentials for making the claim he/she does?).
Our own high school gave up accreditation because it was terribly disruptive to the educational process, labor intensive, and exorbitantly expensive -- after we learned that accreditation did not offer any benefits. The main benefit we assumed it gave (college respect), it did not. The colleges we contacted said they do not even look at the box (it's a mere checkbox on some student applications) that ticks off whether the diploma-granting school were accredited or not. Our public high school, as do the others in the state, meets or exceeds the state's standards, which are much higher than the those of the accreditation we sought. We opted out of accreditation years ago, and yet our students not only get into any college they apply to, but they receive praise for doing better than their college peers from other schools once they're there.
In short, while it is true that SCI has no regional or national accreditation, accreditation probably has little to do with answering the initial question. The best way is to contact the institution one is interested in attending to ask them directly if they, first of all, require a diploma for entrance, and if they do, ask second, wll they accept an SCI diploma.

Stratford does offer a high school diploma program that you can do at home. It is a good program, but you should know that the diploma is more to help you get a job since they are currently not accredited.
Stratford's program offers a comprehensive range of subject matter, but it is not, nor is it intended to be, a substitute for state-sponsored High School and GED programs. Stratford's program is intended for career advancement purposes.
