soda shouldn't be allowed in schools… Why?

It can really harm a child's health conditions and them drinking pop can cause them to be hyper for minutes or hours and then they crash. Seriously, would you want a kid sleeping through a class and missing out on their education?

Not to mention, the second they step out of a physical education class or health class ,where they have learned what to do and what not to do to stay healthy, they are offered a high-calorie, high-carb, high-caffiene, high-sugar, high-fructose, high-corn syrup, high-sodium drink. Just doesn't make any sense.

Also, Kids may not be allowed to drink soda at home and so they find school as an alternative to drinking and purchasing soda.

Sugary drinks are also contributing to obesity and kids becoming overweight, which can affect them for the rest of their lives.

Most people just say soda should be allowed because "i said so" or "its good" and "i like soda".

Soda shouldn't be allowed at school hours, or even at other times, but mostly school times. Soda at school can cause many things, for example, obesity. Each sugary soft drink has been prooven to increase body mass. Sugar rush, what teacher would want a hyper student in the classroom? Soda is full of sugar unless it's diet. (But most children refuse diet. Diet increases body mass as well, acording to my 21 yr old brother.) All this sugar at once causes cavities, you can end up losing your teeth if not fixed. If not fixed, it will cause you a lot of payment. Now... Soda also causes students to burp in class, causing distractions to student's education. (When I was in class, I'm in highschool, A student had burped from soda and made the whole class fill with laughter. Well, of course it's funny but it's hard for the students to get back to work.) Soda and other sugary beverages causes unhealthy bones. Milk consumption by children decreased by 36 percent between the years 1965 and 1966, replaced by soft drinks. Because of these problems, I believe that soda shouldn't be set foot in the classrooms or the campus of the school. Students should stick to flavored water or even better, just plain water.
