a backpack
Depending on the school, you may be able to bring certain equipment into the school property. Ask for the guidelines, however, for using any equipment you bring in. There is no standard.
No, the schools should provide most equipment. The student should bring the shoes (cleats, sneakers, etc) and gloves but the school should supply bats, helmets, balls, and uniforms. There are underprivileged kids who can't afford these and donations or fundraisers should occur to help these kids.
They don't need to bring them to school. School is to learn and the students would rather play games. Some games are very violent and sexual and these don't have a place in school. Finally, the games are expensive and could be damaged or stolen.
