Think about what you're trying to summarise. If it's an answer to a question, make a bullet point list of all the things which contribute to the answer, then write one sentence to explain each of them. Then simply write out the sentences, one after another eg. You have to summarise why it's a good idea to eat cake. You bullet point: * It tastes nice. * It has nutrients in it * It helps the people running cake businesses to make money Then you add a sentence for each: * It tastes nice. This adds to my enjoyment, so I feel more positive about the other aspects of my life. * It has nutrients in it. This helps to keep me healthy, making me live a long and happy life. * It helps people running cake businesses to make money. This stops them going bankrupt and helps them to live a full and happy life. If you are summarising an essay, take each of your points and group the most important things you have written for that point into one sentence, then do the same for all the other points.
