I just got accepted into Purdue and Indiana University Bloomington and I have an unweighted GPA of 3.54 and rising. However, GPA is not everything a college looks at; if you play sports or are involved in clubs and wrote a well written essay you could still be accepted with a lower GPA.
Purdue University in northern Indiana has a horticulture program and Eastern Kentucky University in Kentucky possibly has one.

That really depends. From my experience, Purdue is really stingy with the scholarships. During my Junior year, I had a cum. GPA of 4.3, and senior year, I had a 3.9. I only got $500 from Purdue. Although, I only got a 1800 on my SATs, so that is probably more of an important factor.
I don't know the average GPA to get into Indiana University. But you definitely need to get decent grades. A good GPA and a decent SAT score are a must. After you accomplish this, start thinking about ways you can separate yourself from the competition. Extracurricular activates are very important. Lastly, make sure you want to go to Indiana University. I know a lot of students that thought they wanted to go to their dream school, but when they got in and went to that school, they were really disappointed.
