I can think of only one, Mike Ditka, who was a tight end with the bears and cowboys. He then coached the Bears to there only superbowl win in the 1985 season.

The NFL lockout was started because the players and the coaches wanted more money. the NFLPA is still determining whether to give them the money or not, due to the tight economy. If the NFLPA does not give the players and coaches the money, there will not be a 2011-2012 NFL season.
Typically there is one tight end used in an offensive formation. There are variations to formations that call for two tight ends. In certain formations a third tight end can be used, but will not be an official tight end for that formation as they will be lined up behind the line of scrimmage. A typical NFL roster holds three or four tight ends.
