I am a licensed cosmetologist. Only recently have I heard of a "degree" in Cosmetology. A stlyist I worked with claimed that having a "degree" in cosmetologist you would be able to work in a lab formulating colors and products. That's so not true. I googled it and it's the same exact thing as being a licensed cosmetologist. But the coarse may be a bit different since it goes more in depth with subject like state law, salon management etc. but as far as I know it is the same thing as being licensed!
