You've read how to have good study habits, right? If not, click on the related question below for that one!

Here's how to be a BAD student and fail in school:

  • Use drugs and/or alcohol. Drug addicts (alcoholics are addicts) are only thinking about how to get more drugs - they don't have any brain power left over to study and do well in school (or a job).
  • Stay up late. Kids and teenagers need between 10-12 hours of sleep every night in order to be at their most alert. Poor students stay up late and are sleepy all day in school, so they can't learn much.
  • Eat junk food. Your brain needs healthy food like the rest of your body does! Eating a lot of sugar and caffeine ("energy drinks" and other junk) gives you a short burst of energy - but it wears off in a few minutes and then you get a "sugar crash" that makes you feel even more tired and less alert than you were before!
  • Skive off. Poor students ignore their work and go do more fun things instead. They never learn how to discipline themselves to get an unpleasant job over with.
  • Sit around all day. Exercise helps your body to be healthy and helps your heart pump energy-rich blood to your brain to help you be more alert and focused.
  • Procrastinate. Poor students do not plan ahead, but leave things until the last minute before they begin working.
