Harvard University is the best law school and university to go to.

LSU( Louisiana State University) is a very good school, with one of the biggest football followings, and around 30,000 students, as well as a beautiful campus.

There is no simple answer to that question. If you are considering only academics, Princeton, Stanford, MIT are among the most selective U.S. universities. However, the military academies at West Point, Annapolis and Colorado Springs require almost the same level of academics, plus proven leadership skills and athletic prowess. Other schools require a special and proven talent in music, drama or other performance arts prior to admission. In addition, some colleges reject applicants who they do not think will have a good college experience based on other criteria. Harvard rejects hundreds of applicants with perfect math scores last year. Yale rejected several with perfect 2400 scores, because they were not 'Yale men or women.' While it is important have a great education, going to the 'best' school may not be the best route for you. As an Ivy League grad, I like to think that I had a great education and it cost more than six times the education of a colleague. I doubt if I received six times the education. The secret is going for that best college experience - remember college is as much about formation as information. Good luck! -- a retired professor.

The typical ones you hear like Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Brown, etc. are considered prestigious. However, it may depend on the state in which you live. For example, if you were to go to Baylor University in Waco, TX, an employeer in the state of Texas would consider this "prestigious". However, an employeer in California may be more impressed if you went to Stanford. It's not all about quality, but about where you live because the term varies by area. Personally, I say go for the school that has the best degree program for what you want. It's not all about how "famous" the school is, if you're going to pay $75,000 a year, it should be worth it when you go job hunting.
