The best information can be found on NJ Board of Law Examiners. In a nutshell all states vary, but most include the MBE or MultiState Bar Exam the rigourous 200 question multiple choice questions with little time to answer. The questions are riddled with legal trickery and most students of law can only narrow the correct answer down to 2 answer choices. Also the Essay portion for New Jersey includes all of the MBE subjects plus Civil Procedure. Other requirements are graduation with a JD degree from an ABA accredited law school, etc. Background checks. See NJ Board of Law Examiners. Tough site to navigate but the info is there in the application materials.
