GCSE grades in the UK are typically awarded on a scale from 9 to 1, with 9 being the highest. The percentage ranges for these grades generally are approximately as follows: Grade 9 corresponds to around 90% and above, Grade 8 is around 80-89%, Grade 7 is about 70-79%, Grade 6 is 60-69%, Grade 5 is 50-59%, Grade 4 is 40-49%, and grades 3 to 1 decrease accordingly. These percentages can vary slightly depending on the examination board and specific subject assessments.

As their name suggests, predicted GCSE grades are estimates made by your teacher of how well you will perform in your GCSEs. These predictions are made based on the standard of your GCSE coursework and (in most schools) what marks you scored in your mock exams. For more information see Predicted Grades link.
