What are the pros and cons of school uniforms?

Personally, I go to a school where I have to wear uniforms. I don't mind very much because they are quite stylish! On the upside you don't have to pick out clothes every single morning you can just throw on your handy dandy uniform which is very stylish. Also you don't have to worry about being bullied about your clothes because everyone is wearing their very handy dandy stylish uniforms. On the downside if you are a fashionista you can't change up a uniform that much, but don't worry the uniforms are very stylish. Oh and don't worry you can always find a loop hole in the uniform code even if it says no colored socks throw them on and don't worry about your gym teacher getting mad! THIS IS NOT TRUE SOMEONE ELSE WROTE THIS: I really don't know, but I am going to support the uniforms. They make your school look more sufisticanted, and it could improve a lot of things. Those things could mean a lot to your child's grade. When kids are dressed the same you have no worries on who is going to make fun of who because of there clothing. It is also a very easy to figure out who is not belonging in the school. Hitler loved school uniforms so presumably they might be bad......

• No discrimination on the basis of clothing, or at least less.
• You don't have to worry what you're wearing each day
• You can focus on what you're doing in class
• Spend less money on clothing
• You won't have to worry about looking for casual clothing.

Proposed Cons:

People against school uniforms state that they:

• Limit individuality
• Have costs still hard for economically challenged families
• Students will still will be judged on how you appear (new or used, tailored or offf the rack)
• Although you are eliminating some clique-type problems, later on in life, such as after school, you won't know how to dress and there are still going to be people who pressure you in the real world so this isn't helping when you get out of school.

There are arguments to each side, but students will have to accept what is imposed on them. This would be good if you had grown up in the environment, but not if it was just randomly imposed with no explanation or input
